Adaptation: The Coupling of Narrative Norms for Ravishing Reads

Ironically, as narrative formats flourish in this era of digital innovation, literary aesthetic attitudes sometimes languish. How might English professors encourage students to evaluate as complementary rather than competitive audiovisual renditions of print texts? One instructor adopts a multi-genre and mixed-media curriculum, integrating the sensory with the cerebral experiences of reading literary narrative. Results include a heightened awareness of students’ learned aesthetic preferences as well as an enrichment of their literary norms.
