NASSR Interest Groups

This year NASSR is hoping to establish caucuses or interest groups in
four broadly defined but under-represented areas of the discipline, with
the goal of creating a sustaining and vibrant presence in those areas at
the conference in the long term. Our hope is that scholars in those
areas, knowing that several sessions will be dedicated to their areas of
study each year, will frequently attend annual conferences and invite
other scholars in those fields, who may not as yet attend, to join in,
thereby making possible a more varied and dynamic gathering of scholars.

Those attending the conference this summer are thus invited to join in the
initial, organizing session of four caucuses, each to meet during the
lunch break on Thursday. Please contact the following for details (by June
26) if you would like to join in: Michael Macovski (History of the Book, Editing, and
Textual Studies), msm44@georgetown.edu; Arkady Plotnitsky (History of
Science, Medicine, and Psychology), plotnits@purdue.edu; Alex Regier
(Comparative Literature and Thought), a.regier@rice.edu; and Orrin Wang
(Theory/Philosophy), owang@umd.edu.
