Engage in Master Planning at Planning 301

Georgetown is hosting Planning 301, the next in our series of master planning community forums, Thursday, November 20th from 4:00-8:00pm in the Healey Family Student Center Social Room. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend, whether you have attended previous master planning forums or are engaging for the first time.

This semester’s event is designed to maximize engagement. Staff from Planning and Facilities Management, Student Affairs, and Community Engagement will be available to discuss, in an open house setting, current construction projects, ideas about campus space and student life, and campus planning concepts.

There will be a short presentation at 5:00pm, repeated at 7:00pm, when we will share current thinking about future campus spaces beyond our current projects, including possibilities for future academic and residential space, opportunities to improve and expand green space, efforts to make the campus more pedestrian friendly, and priorities for renovating existing buildings.

Planning 301 is an opportunity to hear about ideas for the future of our campus and to share your principles and ideas about campus space that can inform the planning process. Through our master planning process, students have helped shape the design and function of the Healey Family Student Center and the design of the Northeast Triangle. Faculty have been thinking about future academic programs and the spaces that can support them. Faculty, staff, and students have all identified the desire for a more pedestrian friendly campus that is accessible for everyone. With continued engagement, we can develop a master plan that supports a shared vision for the future of Georgetown.
