Students’ thoughts on how to take care of their mental health

This past Wednesday, Health Education Services and CAPS partnered to host an event about mental health on campus. Hoya Health Hut, a mobile branch of Health Education Services, was present at the event, which was titled “Mental Health Hut with CAPS!” The event was in Leavey Center on November 6th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

According to the 2012 NCHA survey, 91.4% of Georgetown students reported feeling overwhelmed by all they had to do. Luckily, CAPS has a variety of resources to help students when they feel overwhelmed, tailored to the students’ individual needs. Licensed professionals can help students with an assessments of what treatment would work best, assist them through individual counseling, or offer referrals to other professionals.

Free and confidential counseling services about general health and wellness are also offered at Health Education Services! Visit studenthealth.georgetown.edu/health-promotion to get more information about our services, how to make an appointment, and about general information about health topics.
