The workshops are designed to help you manage your research, expertly utilize library resources, introduce you to new tools and technologies, and, most importantly, apply these skills in real-world situations.

RSS Feeds: Keeping Current with the Health Literature

All workshops will be held in the Biomedical Academic Computing Center (BACC) classroom, located on the lower level of Dahlgren Memorial Library, or in the DML Conference room, located on the main level of the Library.

New DML Research Guides

December 11, 2009

Dahlgren Memorial Library has a new interface for its research guides:  http://researchguides.dml.georgetown.edu. We are gradually migrating the old research guides to this new format and also adding additional topics.

These new research guides will incorporate new technologies such as RSS feeds, podcasts, video, etc. The guides will allow users to rate resources, comment on links, and send suggestions for potential links to include in the guide. There will also be contact information on every page to provide our users with quick access to a librarian.

These guide are also integrated with the Library’s liaison program in order to help support the community of Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital.

Every October, in conjunction with celebrating National Medical Librarian’s Month, Dahlgren Memorial Library (DML) hosts a READ Poster Campaign where the library honors a select cross-section of GUMC faculty, staff, and students who characterize the concept of cura personalis. Lunch & Launch Party…You’re Invited!

August 12, 2009

Dahlgren Memorial Library invites you to a Lunch & Launch party to celebrate the arrival of two new point-of-care tools: DynaMed and Dxplain! Nibble on tasty snacks and treats while experts explain what these new resources are and how you might utilize them. All Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.

Where: Dahlgren Memorial Library Reserves Room
When: Friday, August 21st between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Celebrating Women’s History Month

March 20, 2009

Dahlgren Memorial Library is celebrating Women’s History Month on the ground floor of the library with several displays and two presentations shown on our ECB Plasma Screen.
