The ScienceDirect database (including journals and eBooks) is currently displaying the error message “You have been temporarily denied access to the system” when accessed from off-campus. On-campus users should not be affected. We are working with our vendor to re-instate access and apologize for the inconvenience.

Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) is a peer reviewed, PubMed indexed journal devoted to the publication of biological, medical, chemical and physical research in a video format.

Epocrates Essentials

Epocrates, a highly regarded all-in-one clinical drug and diagnostic tool, is now available for all Georgetown University affiliates courtesy of Dahlgren Memorial Library.

Highlights include:

  • Point-of-care drug reference
  • Drug interaction checker
  • Pill identifier, pill pictures
  • Health plan formularies
  • Alternative (herbal) medicines
  • Diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Disease conditions and topics

Epocrates can be utilized two different ways:

  1. Use Epocrates Online via a web browser. [NetID Required from off-campus]
  2. Use Epocrates Essentials: an iOS, Android, or BlackBerry app downloaded from via the DML site [NetID Required].
