Doyle Film Series Screening on Friday

This Friday, the Doyle Film and Culture Series will screen the film Sound and Fury, which documents one family’s dilemma about the use of cochlear implants. The screening will be followed by a discussion with one of the film’s subjects, Georgetown student Heather Artinian.

“MyDante: An Online Environment for Contemplative and Collaborative Reading,” an article by Frank Ambrosio (Philosophy), Bill Garr (CNDLS), Eddie Maloney (CNDLS), and Theresa Schlafly (CNDLS), has just been published in the first issue of the new Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy.

Genome Solver Featured at Meeting on Undergraduate Research

Genome Solver is a collaborative effort involving Janet Russell (CNDLS) and Anne Rosenwald (Biology) at Georgetown, as well as genomics experts from the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and educators from Simmons College in Boston. The goal is to generate a community of new genome analysts within classrooms and between schools and experts by capitalizing on the wealth of microbial DNA sequencing the Human Microbiome Project (HMP) has created.
