We're pleased to present the latest issue of The Prospect (Issue 8), a CNDLS publication designed to highlight innovative teaching practice at Georgetown.
Last week at CNDLS, we were saddened to learn of the recent loss of Frank A. Moretti, Executive Director of the Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL). Frank was a good friend and a longtime collaborator with CNDLS. Over the years, Frank enthusiastically arranged a number of opportunities for many of us to share ideas, expertise, and conviviality with colleagues at CCNMTL. In particular, we were honored to work closely with Frank and his colleagues on Project Rebirth, exploring the educational potential of digital materials on trauma, recovery, and resilience. We were also most fortunate to welcome him as a Visiting Scholar at CNDLS and at Georgetown in Fall 2010.
Frank’s deep commitment to teaching is evidenced by his many accomplishments in the field of digital technology and education. His unfailing spirit of experimentation and innovation inspired many of us, and he will certainly be missed both professionally and personally. He was the embodiment of courage and resilience. We offer our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
