Joan Riley Honored by American Academy of Nursing

Joan Riley (NHS), a longtime CNDLS collaborator and current CNDLS Senior Faculty Fellow, was recently inducted as a fellow into the American Academy of Nursing.  Joan was a founding faculty fellow with the Engelhard Project for Connecting Life and Learning, which brings together faculty and campus health professionals to link academic course material with issues of wellness. In addition to her continued participation as an Engelhard faculty fellow, Joan currently plays a key role in leadership of the project, which has expanded significantly since its inception in 2005. Joan has previously been honored as the D.C. Professor of the Year (2009) by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, as well as by Georgetown students, who selected her as the winner of the Dorothy Brown award in 2007. She is well-known across campus for her love of teaching and her dedication to her students (not to mention her infectious laughter). Please join us in congratulating Joan on this well-deserved recognition!
