We're pleased to present the latest issue of The Prospect (Issue 8), a CNDLS publication designed to highlight innovative teaching practice at Georgetown.
This Thursday, Andrew Miller, a participant in the Apprenticeship in Teaching Program, will offer a brief session on the use of PowerPoint in the classroom. All are welcome to attend.
PowerPoint: Teaching Aid or Teaching Crutch?
Thursday, April 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the CNDLS conference room (Car Barn 314)This session will look at a number of questions related to the oft-used software: should PowerPoint be used in the classroom at all? If so, what makes for an effective presentation? Do professors rely too heavily on the tool? And, is it competitive with cutting edge presentation software such as Prezi? The session will be heavily focused on discussion, so your ideas and opinions are welcome!Note: This session will not count for AT program credit.
