Deadline for GLI Curriculum Enrichment Grants Announced

This semester's deadline for Georgetown Learning Initiatives (GLI) Curriculum Enrichment Grants is Tuesday, February 15. Though applications will be accepted throughout the semester, funding may be limited after the deadline. The grants, which provide up to $500 per course, support instructors (both full-time and part-time) who want to increase student engagement with course material by creatively incorporating resources of the larger community. Instructors are especially encouraged to propose events that will give students in introductory courses the opportunity to learn about advanced work in that particular field of study. Examples of past projects include lectures and class visits by local writers, small-group lunches between a professor and his students, a night at the opera, and an exit poll project in which students surveyed Arlington citizens as they voted in a recent election. To be considered for a grant, please send an email to John Rakestraw (jar34@georgetown.edu) detailing your proposed project plans, the total funding requested and how it will be spent, and how you think your event will deepen your students’ intellectual engagement in the class material going forward. For more information, please go to the Curriculum Enrichment Grants page.
