Claim: A plant-based diet can eliminate hypertension and diabetes.
The documentary gives the example of a person who had hypertension and one who had diabetes. According to the documentary, these two people were able to eliminate their diseases by simply turning to a plant-based diet and not consuming animal products.
However, I feel that the entire credit can not be given to a solely plant-based diet and removing animal products. When both of these people eliminated animal products from their diet, they also stopped eating processed foods. At the same time both of them started to exercise more. Removing processed foods from their diet and exercising more probably also played a major role in helping to eliminate their diseases.
