As a part of the business school, I was a part of a first-year seminar titled “The Real Estate Game” with Professor Thomas Cooke and Professor Matthew Cypher. This course has helped me develop a strong understanding of the global nature of real estate and real estate valuations via presenting real estate investment opportunities in Washington, DC to a simulated investment committee. Apart from understanding the real estate market, this course has taught me how to write pro forma statements as well as how to evaluate real estate property based on cash flows and cap rates. As our final project we were tasked to provide an investment strategy for a property in Columbia Heights. Attached is the offering memorandum and the analysis my group and I created.
